Up until recently, the only way to fix gone astray teeth was to turn to braces. A lengthy and costly answer, often unappealing aesthetically. The Inman Aligner is being hailed as a revolutionary breakthrough in orthodontistry by dentists. The new brace is removable and almost completely clear with the majority of the aligner that isn't clear being out of sight.

The Inman Aligner is also both cheaper and faster than a standard brace. Whereas others can cost up to almost £5,000 (naturally this varies depending on what treatment is needed on your teeth) the Inman aligner can start at around £1,150 (again the price depends on the nature of the treatment you will need and the number of visits but is still generally cheaper than standard braces) A normal brace usually takes between 1 and 2 years to fully re-align teeth; the Inman Aligner can take as little as a month to take effect.

The device uses a pressure system as with most other braces. Whereas most others use more pressure depending on the degree of alteration that is needed to the tooth, technician Don Inman has shown that less is more; the aligner uses less pressure to ensure less resistance from the pressurised tooth, speeding up the process. Because of this decrease in pressure, the routine check-ups to tighten the brace are less frequent; one check-up a month is usually how often you would have to visit the orthodontist with the Inman Aligner.

The brace has proved hugely successful in the States and is beginning to appear in Britain, not all practices supply it however so some searching may be needed. The Inman Aligner is only suited to fully formed adult teeth and is not available on the NHS so will need to be purchased privately.
